The Cheaper Show is being taken to a new level this round. The new space is a monster compared to the previous spaces we’ve held the show. We have secured 142 Water St. (the old Storyeum building) as our venue. We welcome you to come down and see the results on June 21st. Our first step is to find new talent. Previous shows have showcased local art heroes such as Jesse Savath, Ben Tour, Acrow, Rebecca Chaperon, Abbas Ahkavan, Chad Woodley, Byron Barrett, The Dark, Shannon Hemmett, Jody Rogac, Christian Nicolay, Weakhand, The Lions, HumanFive, Assballs, Jeff Lee, The Boy, Chi Pig, Andrew Pommier, and Sean Maxey. We hope to have your work hanging alongside these future legends.

The work in these shows has never been about pushing a particular category but rather the lack of. It is a multi-genre multi-discipline show. The genres range from the urban to the academic. This show was designed to drop all boundaries of ‘scene’ and exclusivity. It was created as a means of making art accessible to almost all walks of life for one night a year. It was a way for established artists to reach out and contribute their name to artists that haven’t had the opportunity for great exposure. It has become very common for gallery directors to come down to these shows to view the work in hopes of finding an artist for future representation. This has happened to more than a few of us. Each year, collectors and patrons commission many of the artists for additional pieces at full price. We are going to be receiving national press on this show, artists are invited down to the four hour preview to take part in interviews with press in attendance.  

There is no charge to submit your work.
There is no entrance fee for displaying your work.
The venue for this year’s event is 142 Water Street (the former Storyeum buiding)
The price for each piece at this years event is $200.00
The artist receives 75% of the sale (after taxes)
